I did it! I crocheted a circle scarf! And it’s actually really nice. As I told you exactly two months ago, my friend Evelien is teaching me how to crochet. This scarf was my first project, but it took a long time for me to finish it, because I always have too many plans and not enough time to pursue them all. But I’m learning to only pick projects I really want to do and this was one of them. So last Sunday I made a pot of tea, but on some Beirut and crocheted away!
I really like this scarf; it’s color goes great with my coat and it’s super warm. It’s supposed to be freezing next week, so I guess I finished it just in time!
Also, check out Evelien’s crochet shop if you fancy yourself a nice scarf like this. Evelien makes a lot of different ones in a lot of beautiful colors, and she’s quite a lot faster (and better) than I am!

Yay!!! I love it Inge, you did such a good job girl! Man, putting on a pot of tea, listening to beirut, and crocheting literally sounds like my heaven.
We should do that together sometimes ;)
I love crocheting! I’ve only ever finished one scarf, daffodil yellow with pink-red roses on it – a bit tacky, but I was so proud. I love the chunkiness of your circle scarf, though, it looks so warm and cozy! What yarn and hook size did you use?
I asked my crochet master, who provided me with both yarn and hook, and the yarn was Bravo Big by Schachenmayr and the hook size was 10mm.
You made a beautiful scarf!! You’ve inspired me.. yes, please let us know what size hook you’ve used.. I need to try this!
P.S. Love your blog.. I’ve just discovered it from Reading My Tea Leaves.. you’re on my list of daily reads :)
Helen – I came here from Reading My Tea Leaves too, also added to my daily reads! You’ve created a beautiful space here, Inge – I’m trying to teach myself some website design, and your blog is really inspirational.
Thank you Helen! I was honored to be mentioned on Reading My Tea Leaves; one of my favorite blogs.
Shivani, thank you for your kind words! I’m actually in the process of redesigning the blog, so I hope you’ll like the new design too. If you ever need some help, just let me know.
Inge, I’m sure I’ll love the new design! I have some coding experience with Python, but I’m just starting to delve into the html and css worlds. I also know absolutely nothing about graphic design; I have a good eye for cleanliness and simplicity, but no practical experience figuring it out! I’m excited to explore and learn. Do you have any suggestions for online tutorials or blogs, either for aesthetics or for coding? Thanks so much!
Another thought – what is your process for approaching a redesign?
You know what? I’ll send you an email, this could get extensive ;)
Yay for you mastering crochet! I’ve never got the hang of it. I did get a circle scarf for Christmas though, and love it. Here we call it a snood!
It has many names! I like snood, though.
Mooi gemaakt!
Well done! It’s gorgeous!!
Hij is af! wat superleuk :-) je hebt hem vast al wel veel aangehad de afgelopen weken?!
