Welcome to my new and improved blog! Yesterday, just as I was finally going to push that “publish” button, we lost power. Now, we live in a small cabin with limited power available to us, so if we, for instance, use the electric water boiler while also using the oven, we lose power. But at that time, both Joop and I were sitting behind our computers, working, not enjoying a cup of tea nor a slice of cake. When we looked out the window, we could see the whole street was dark. It appeared to be a larger problem and all we could do was light some candles, make some dinner and get cozy. When the power came back on two hours later, we were actually kind of bummed for a moment!
But on to the order of the day: my website! I’ve been working on this thing here for quite a while and learned so much in the process. Every little element of this blog and my new website is designed, drawn, carved and coded by my own two hands. I’d never built a wordpress website completely from scratch before and to transform all the ideas in my head into a working website was quite the challenge. I won’t bore you with more nerd-talk (though I could), but let’s just say I learned a lot and am happy I did.
I now offer custom handmade webdesign for small business owners, etsy sellers and bloggers. I’d love to help you make a home for yourself on the internet! That was a smooth transition to your new site, it looks great! I’m always proud of myself when I work out something in the coding of my blog and change it by myself. I adore your backyard too – a nice contrast to the hot hot summer we’re having here in Australia this summer!

The power out was a real adventure. I was also a little bumbed when it came back on. Was looking forward on sleeping in the livingroom, keeping it warm with candles and cooking on a campfire for the next day.
